Rent a car in Marbella for the day because Alhaurin el Grande is a mere 15-minute drive inland from Monda Castle.
You will pass the village of Coin, keep driving on until you get to the exit for Alhaurin, it is easy to find!
Alhaurin el Grande is located on the Sierra de Mijas hillside and offers many sightseeing attractions.

There are many things to do in Coín. From markets, fairs, to luxury spas and there’s even a cinema! Coin is a small village of just over 27.000 inhabitants located only 10 minutes from Monda.
From the Castle, drive further into the mountains until you see a signpost for “Coin” that’s where you take the exit and you will drive straight into the picturesque Spanish town.
The town organises many events throughout the year and has many weekly activities such as markets and the occasional fairs.
Furthermore, the beautiful landscape of the town is worth a visit on its own! There are many valleys and riversides to explore in Coin.

Guaro is located a mere 5 minutes drive from Monda Castle.
It is a small village but has much to offer including a cultural center “Al Andalus & Ethnographic Museum of Oil” which retains an Arab oil press from the XII century.
The museum highlights the town’s influence as traditional producer of olives from the period of Al-Andalus.

There are just a few things to do in Ojén, but each of them are worth the visit! Ojen is a beautiful whitewashed village between Monda & Marbella. When you drive into the direction of Ojen from the hotel you will get to the village in less than 15 minutes.
You can’t miss this picturesque village. When you drive up to Castillo de Monda it is the white village that appears on the right and promises absolutely breathtaking views of the valley and the mediterranean costa.
